Persija has a dilemma of many players being targeted by overseas clubs

Jakarta

Persija Jakarta in a dilemma regarding the interest of state clubs in the players. They are waiting for the certainty of the Shopee League 1 competition.

There are at least four players Persija which is rumored to be of interest to foreign clubs. They are Rezaldi Hehanussa, Osvaldo Haay, Ryuji Utomo, to Riko Simanjuntak.

Rezaldi and Riko have even admitted that they have received official offers from clubs from Thailand to South Korea. While the Director of Persija, Ferry Paulus said that there are more players that overseas clubs are interested in than rumors.

Ferry said he would not prevent his players from leaving for another club. However, they are also waiting for certainty on the continuation of domestic competition in Indonesia.

As is well known, PSSI and PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) want to continue the competition in February 2021. However, until now there has been no certainty of permission from the police which is the main condition for the continuation of the competition.

“It is true that several Persija pillar players are being targeted by several foreign clubs, some of which have great reputations,” Ferry said in a club release.

Persija willing to send players abroad in the hope that they can continue to compete and get normal income. In Indonesia, players’ salaries are limited to a maximum of 25 percent during vacuum competitions and around 50 percent when competition runs again.

However Persija also in a dilemma because most of the competition transfer market in Southeast Asia is close to the planned kick off of Liga 1 in February 2021. The Kemayoran Tigers have to wait for certainty of competition before actually releasing their players.

Meanwhile, Persija plans to lend its players abroad on loan. Because more than 70 percent of the Kemayoran Tiger players are bound by long-term contracts.

“Persija does not close the door for foreign teams because it is in a dilemma. This is inseparable from the transfer market for several leagues in Southeast Asia which are almost close to the planned kick off of Liga 1,” said Ferry.

“So that if the worst possibility of competition is postponed again, then the chance for players to compete abroad will be lost. There is also communication with the players. If Persija calls back, they will return to Jakarta,” he concluded.
