Match review

Persib Bandung did not perform at their best in this match. There are nine of their players who cannot play because they are exposed to Covid-19.

However, Persib could still keep up with the 1973 Persikabo game led by Ciro Alves.

Persib had received a threat in the 17th minute when Ciro Alves’ kick from outside the penalty box led to the goal.

Luckily, their goalkeeper, Teja Paku Alam, was in the right position to deny the ball sent by Ciro Alves.

A few minutes later, Persib had a golden opportunity. Mohammed Rashid’s pull bait reached the feet of Erwin Ramdani who was already standing at the Persikabo goal mouth.

Unfortunately, Erwin Ramdani’s final finish has not been accurate. His shot still deviated from the target.

After passing the first opportunity, Persib Bandung finally scored a goal in the 22nd minute through debutant Kakang Rudianto.

Starting from a corner kick Mohammed Rashid, the ball is fed to Frets Butuan. Frets then entered the penalty box and released a precise right-footed shot, but it was parried by Persikabo 1973 goalkeeper Mochammad Dicky.

The ball rebounded towards Kakang Rudianto. The defender number five immediately kicked the ball with his right foot and ended up in the Persikabo goal.

This is Kakang Rudianto’s debut with the Persib senior team. His current age is 18 years, 361 days.

Kakang will be Persib’s fourth youngest debutant after Beckham Putra Nugraha (2019), Gian Zola Nugraha (2017) and Indra Mustafa (2018).

Kakang Rudianto’s goal ensured Persib Bandung won 1-0 over Persikabo in the first half.

Entering the second half, Persib, who was already ahead, lowered the tempo slightly, while Persikabo increased the intensity of their attacks.

Persib almost conceded in the 65th minute when Ciro Alves’ free kick slid into their net.

Fortunately, Teja Paku Alam appeared deft to block the ball from Ciro Alves.

After Ciro Alves’ opportunity, Persib mostly waited at the back and occasionally launched a counter-attack.

Persib’s counter-attack almost paid off in the 68th minute when Mohammed Rashid made a solo run and fired an accurate shot from outside the penalty box.

However, the Palestinian midfielder’s efforts could still be saved by the opposing goalkeeper and only produced a corner for Persib.

From the corner kick, Persib threatened through Kakang Rudianto’s header which unfortunately deviated slightly from the Persikabo goal.

In the remaining minutes of the second half, Persib received many threats from the opponent, but Teja Paku Alam was so tough under the bar that they avoided conceding until the end of the match.
