Persib Bandung beat Dewa United 2-1 in the continuation of League 1 this season. An additional three points makes up the squad louis milla mathematically still have a chance to win.
Playing at Gelora Bandung Lautan Api, Monday (20/3/2023), Persib opened the scoring in the 12th minute. The collaboration between Ciro Alves and David Da Silva led to a clever pass for Marc Klok who moved into the Dewa United penalty box.
With one measured shot, the Indonesian national team midfielder broke into Dewa United’s goal guarded by Muhammad Natshir. Maung Bandung led 1-0.
The advantage vanished in the 35th minute. Risto Mitrevski got his name on the scoreboard after taking advantage of Majed Osman’s through ball. The defender from North Macedonia shot into the right corner of the Persib goal guarded by Teja Paku Alam. Score 1-1 lasted until halftime.
In the second half, Dewa United immediately lost Frendi Saputra who received a second yellow card in the 46th minute. He had previously received a yellow card in the first round.
Superior in the number of players, Persib tried to confine Dewa United’s defense. Ciro Alves almost scored a goal in the 50th minute if Natshir had not pushed over his close-range shot. In the 51st minute, Natshir managed to ward off Klok’s long-range shot.
Persib almost scored a goal in the 64th minute. Ciro Alves’ cross from the right side which was managed to be pushed over by Natshir then tried to be struck by Frets Butuan, but his shot went over the goal.
It was only in the 75th minute that Persib finally scored the second goal. Robi Darwis dribbled the ball into the penalty box, escaped from the guard of two players and then fired a shot into the left corner of the goal which Natshir failed to clear. The hosts won 2-1.
No additional goals were created until the game was over. With this victory, Persib rose to second place in the standings with 56 points from 29 matches. Meanwhile, Dewa United is in 15th position with 33 points from 31 matches.
