Persib boss said about the accusation of ‘Elephant Football’ against Barito

Jakarta

Some suspect Persib Bandung involved in ‘elephant football’ aka flirting against Barito Putera. Persib also responded by categorically denying this.

Persib drew 1-1 against Barito in the last week of League 1. This made Barito ensure safety in the top competition, while Persipura Jayapura were relegated to League 2.

In the process, some were suspicious of a number of conditions on the field when Persib drew against Barito. There is even a lawyer who reportedly wants to sue Persib and Barito for alleged ‘elephant football’.

What did Persib say?

Director of PT Persib Bandung Dignity (PBB) Teddy Tjahjono emphatically denied accusations of flirting or ‘elephant football’ against his squad.

“Persib certainly highly upholds the values of sportsmanship, integrity, fair play, and respect in competing in order to create a healthy sports climate,” said Teddy, Saturday (2/4/2022).

“These values are what we always hold when we compete in every match to seek victory in a sporting manner and fair play, regardless of which team we are facing,” said Teddy.

Before Persib responded, PT LIB President Director Akhmad Hadian Lukita had time to comment on the news that there were lawyers who wanted to take legal action over allegations of elephant football.

“Every club has the right to take legal action, whatever the reason,” Akhmad Hadian Lukita told detikSport.
