Persib officially announced the new Brazilian striker Bruno Cantanhede on Saturday (12/18/2021). Cantanhede is plotted as a replacement for Wander Luiz, he will partner with compatriot David da Silva, who was also recently recruited by Persib in the mid-season transfer window of Liga 1 2021/2022 this December.
Cantanhede is a bomber who grazed in the middle of the 2019 Vietnam League season with Viettel. In his debut season, he scored 15 goals in 14 appearances. One of his best records is scoring a quatrick in the ultimate party (2019).
Cantanhede was defended by the Viettel club in the 2020 season. His appearance was not as sharp as the first season, he was only able to score 8 goals from 19 appearances. But he led the Red Tornado team to win the Vietnam League (2020). It was his best career achievement in Southeast Asia.
The 2021 season continued, he was signed by Vietnamese giants Ha Noi FC, winning the Super Cup or Community Shield of Vietnamese football. In the 2021 season Cantanhede played 8 matches out of a total of 12 matches played by Ha Noi FC, before the season was stopped due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the Vietnamese football federation VFF decided to cancel the championship and relegation.
Cantanhede last played in a competition match on May 2, 2021. Now he has been recruited by Persib to play in the second round of Liga 1 Indonesia 2021/2022. He is expected to be able to sharpen Maung Bandung’s attack line which is considered less vicious in the first round.
Former striker Wander Luiz can only score 6 hol from 17 appearances. While the tandem Geoffrey Castillion scored 3 goals from 13 appearances. It is worth waiting for the breakthrough of David da Silva and Bruno Cantanhede in Indonesian football with the pride of Bobotoh Persib Bandung team.
