Persib Bandung officially completes the composition of foreign players for the 2022/2023 season competition. Daisuke Sato was announced to be a foreign legion from Asia contacted by Persib and filled the slot that was occupied by Mohammed Rashid last season. The news was released via the club’s social media accounts.
The player who plays as a left back is from the Philippines. He is a player of Japanese descent but has been a subscription to the Philippine national team since 2014. His career at the club in recent years was mostly spent in Thailand.
After being a part of Muangthong United, Sato has also played for Suphanbury and Ratchaburi. After traveling in Thailand for three years, the 27-year-old finally tried his luck with Persib and tasted a career in Indonesia.
Previously, it was reported that Persib would land a player who plays in the attack line. But finally Robert Rene Alberts decided to recruit a player who plays as a full back. Losing Ardi Idrus in the left-back area could be the reason Sato was brought in in the transfer market this time.
Sato himself is currently still a member of the Philippines national team in the 2023 Asian Cup qualifying event. He will still serve with The Azkals until June 14. Reportedly the player is projected to join the club in the quarter-finals of the 2022 President’s Cup.
