Persib Bandung has found a successor for Ardi Idrus for the left back position. David Rumakiek has officially landed from Persipura for the 2021/2022 Liga 1 competition. This Papuan player has agreed to join and has signed a contract.
Teddy Tjahjono stated that David was contracted for one year with an option for an extension. “The contract is 1+1,” said the Director of PT. This dignified Persib Bandung when asked for confirmation regarding the recruitment of the new player.
For players who are still 22 years old, the duration of the contract is fairly short. Moreover, no other recruits from Persib this season were all snared with a contract duration of more than a year. Even Rachmat Irianto was tied for the next three seasons.
Teddy also gave an explanation about the short contract period of Ramai Rumakiek’s older brother. According to Teddy, from the results of the negotiations, the duration was agreed upon. “The agreement between the two sides is like that,” said the bespectacled man.
David Rumakiek is a player who made 18 appearances for Mutiara Hitam in Liga 1 2021/2022. Unfortunately, he failed to save the team from relegation and dropped to League 2. However, his actions were enough to make Persib smitten and chose him as a replacement for Ardi Idrus who left.
The consideration is that apart from having a left-back position, he is also a player who is dominant with his left foot. This made Maung Bandung approach him and the negotiation process did not last long. “About two weeks (the hunting process),” concluded Teddy.
