Esports News: Indonesia will be officially represented by Persib Bandung in the Southeast Asian Pro Evolution Soccer or PES eFootball tournament titled “Champions eFootball” (CeF), which is scheduled to take place in September 2021.
CeF is a regional esports circuit attended by a number of professional football clubs in Asia. This tournament was created with the aim of establishing collaboration between esports talents and professional football clubs, to compete with each other on the international stage.
Reporting from ONE Esports, this PES event has officially received support from the Asian Electronic Sports Federation (AESF) as the official body of esports in Asia.
A total of eight football teams from seven countries in Southeast Asia will send their representatives to compete in the 2021 eFootball Champions season. The seven countries are Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore, Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia and Malaysia.
Of the seven participating countries for the 2021 eFootball Champions, Thailand has sent the most representatives, namely two teams, Chonburi FC and Buriram United. While other countries, only have one representative.
Besides Buriram United and Chonburi FC from Thailand, as well as Indonesia represented by Persib Bandung, other teams participating this season are Johor Darul Ta’azim (Malaysia), Tampines Rovers (Singapore), Nagaworld (Cambodia), United City FC (Philippines), and Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam).
CeF is scheduled to start on September 9, 2021, starting with the group stage matches. The competition then continues to the semifinals, and closes with the grand final which will take place on October 7, 2021.
