For the farmers of the south of the State, the lemon represents an economic income that they see from October to April or March.
Lemon growers have the best time to harvest in the first four months of the year, as the fruit increases in price as it becomes scarce. In 2013 it sold for up to $ 800 a box.
According to Carlos Dzul May, this represents a recovery of resources in the payment of irrigation, fertilization and maintenance of the orchard.
