Perseid Meteor Showers in the Indonesian Sky Tonight : Okezone techno

Tonight and yesterday were the peak moments of the Perseid Meteor shower in the sky of Indonesia. The meteor shower has actually started to be active from July 17 to August 24.

But the peak perseid meteor shower will happen tonight. Then how to see it?

The National Institute of Aeronautics and Space (LAPAN) on its official website wrote that this meteor shower can be seen from the North-Northwest to the North starting at midnight local time, until 20 minutes before sunrise.

The maximum intensity of this meteor shower in Indonesia reaches 60-90 meteors per hour with a meteor speed of 212,400 km/hour.

This meteor shower is said to be undisturbed by the 4-day-old Early Crescent Moon because it sets before midnight.

Meanwhile, NASA in its official blog, said that in the northern hemisphere and areas far from light pollution, it is possible to see 40 Perseids per hour. Meanwhile, the southern hemisphere sees fewer Perseids.

NASA also provides tips for being able to see this meteor shower. First you have to find a comfortable place and avoid bright light as much as possible.

In addition NASA also asks your eyes to make adjustments in dark areas for up to half an hour. Perseid appears as a fast little line of light.

For your information, the Perseid Meteor Shower comes from the dust remnants of comet 109P/Swift-Tuttle. Its name comes from the radian point or point of origin of the appearance of the meteor shower, namely in the constellation Perseus.
