JAKARTA – Meteor Rain Perseid will flood the earth and can be seen in various parts of the world, especially in the northern hemisphere with the naked eye. The peak of this meteor shower is expected to occur on 12-13 August 2023.
The perfect position of the moon will make this meteor shower a stunning show. Quoted from Live Science, Sunday (6/8/2023), as many as 100 meteors are expected to slide every hour during the peak phase.
The American Meteor Society predicts the peak of the meteor shower will occur at midnight August 13. The total duration of the meteor shower will last 16 hours.
The series begins on August 12 when the sky looks pitch black. At that time, the constellation Perseus – from which the meteors originate – will rise higher in the northwestern sky, as seen from the Northern Hemisphere.
Sunny weather and some light are required for perfect monitoring. When this moment is considered light Crescent almost 8 percent fluoresce so it does not interfere with monitoring.

The best way to see shooting stars is to find a lookout away from city lights. Let your eyes get used to the darkness for 20 minutes, then sit or lie down and look up at the sky.
Although meteors appear to originate from Perseus, they can appear anywhere in the sky. The Perseids meteor shower can be seen with the naked eye. However, the results will be more spectacular if you use binoculars or a telescope.
