Researchers say this will be one of the best years to find Perseids, launching from the Science Alert website, Friday, August 11, 2023.
“Conditions this year have been perfect. The waning crescent moon, illuminated at only 8 percent, rose early in the morning on August 13 and will not obstruct the view,” said Diana Hannikainen, editor of Sky & Telescope.

PerseidPerseid will be visible to almost everyone in the Northern Hemisphere and in the dark spot. Approximately one meteor will be visible per minute.
