Persebaya Surabaya Threatened with Fines by PSSI Komdis Due to Guest Supporters’ Presence at Bung Karno Stadium

TRIBUNMATARAMAN.COM – Persebaya Surabaya is again threatened with fines from the PSSI Komdis because guest supporters insisted on going to the Bung Karno Stadium, Jakarta, last Sunday (30/7/2023), in the Persija Vs Persebaya match.

Previously, Persebaya had received Rp. 25 million because Bonek was caught away when Persebaya visited the PSIS Semarang headquarters (16/7/2023).

“Yes, if there are sanctions, but I want everything to be fair. First, hopefully the ban will be evaluated soon, that’s the most important thing,” said Persebaya manager, Yahya Alkatiri, Wednesday (2/8/2023).

“Second, hopefully it’s fair, there are not only Persija supporters and Persebaya supporters, but there is one more supporter who can be there and provoke a commotion and issue racist chants,” he added.

Even though Yahya said, during the match, as soon as there were racist chants at the GBK Stadium, he had asked LIB officials to stop the match temporarily. The request learned from the Kanjuruhan Tragedy.

“During the Kanjuruhan trial, when we became witnesses, one of the questions was, why when chants like that are still continuing, even though according to regulations it can be stopped,” said Yahya.

“I have already spoken to the LIB, but one of the LIB officers is still doing it. That’s why, I asked, this LIB only wants to hold it until it’s finished or the safety factor is also supported,” he added firmly.

As a result, PT LIB officers who were monitoring the Persija vs Persebaya match ignored Persebaya’s appeal.

Yahya Alkatiri immediately established communication with the operational director of PT LIB.

“I have communicated with the operational director of PT LIB that yesterday the officer in the field when I said that he did not say yes, and it was actually a risk,” explained Yahya.

He hopes that all matches in the Indonesian competition will be immediately stopped when there are racist chants.

“Because it’s a death threat, in our country there is a penalty for that threat,” explained Yahya.

He also hopes that the security forces will work extra for the advancement of Indonesian football by controlling those who practice racist chants.

“I also hope that the Polda Metro police, at the GBK stadium there is CCTV, please open the CCTV, who are the provocateurs who still want Indonesian football to be damaged, they will be arrested,” he concluded.
