Waste fire at Persianthe first Arpac measurements do not reveal any critical issues. Since yesterday evening, a mobile laboratory for continuous air quality detection has been active, located in the Falagato area in Silent Altavilla. “The first data – we read in a note issued by the regional agency – relating to the concentrations of nitrogen oxides, benzene, PM10 and PM 2.5 particulate matter, carbon monoxide and hydrogen sulphide, do not highlight any critical issues, as the hourly limits have not been exceeded“.
Two samplers are currently active for monitoring particulate matter, dioxins and furans dispersed in the atmosphere, located within the military complex of Persano and in localities Borgo Carillia. This morning the first samples, referring to the first monitoring cycle started during the night between July 30 and 31, were transferred to the agency’s laboratories. The results will be made known as soon as they are available.
Surface soil sampling has also been planned along the main wind direction, in the fallout areas identified with a forecasting model. The sampling plan will be started once the extinguishing operations have been concluded, in order to obtain a representative picture of the effects of the event for its entire duration.
