The evolution of the COVID-19 epidemic which affects the Pyrénées-Orientales during this third wave forced to prohibit visits to patients from this Thursday, January 21, 2021.
Visits again prohibited at Perpignan hospital. “The evolution of the COVID-19 epidemic which affects our department in this 3rd wave, forces us to prohibit visits to patients from this Thursday, January 21”, communicates the hospital center. PO. this Wednesday had 91 people hospitalized for Covid, including 18 in intensive care.
The hospital management nevertheless specifies that exemptions will be granted for defined care sectors and the following situations:
Maternity : presence of the second parent authorized in the birthing room for childbirth and in the room 24 hours a day with compulsory mask wearing
Pediatrics: authorized presence of a single parent 24 hours a day with compulsory mask wearing
Neonatology: authorized presence of both parents 24 hours a day with compulsory mask
Intensive care : Visit authorized by appointment for 1 person per patient and per day with compulsory mask wearing
An exemption is possible by decision of the doctor responsible for the patients at the end of life (limited to 2 people max).
Within 48 hours of emergency hospitalization, visits are authorized for 1 person per day (duration of 1 hour) to allow the management of the patient’s personal effects.
Consultations are maintained : patients with an appointment must come alone.
An exemption is made for people who need assistance to move around, communicate or for minor children.
Screening at the main entrance is established to control access to the site.
Only scheduled consultations, hospitalizations and vaccinations will allow access to the hospital. This pass applies to authorized visitors in the care sectors and situations defined above.
