The police have caught the culprit abuse bus passengers TransJakarta (TransJ) the initials H for the Monas-Pulogadung route. TransJakarta will hand over to the police regarding the legal process of the case. TransJ requests that the perpetrators be dealt with firmly.
“TransJakarta has followed up on the incident and handed it over to the authorities, in this case the police. The perpetrators have been arrested and secured by the authorities,” said the Head of the Corporate Secretary and Public Relations Division of PT TransJakarta, Apriastini Bakti Bugiansri, in a statement, Tuesday (21/2/2023 ).
Besides that, TransJakarta Appreciate the courage of the victims in responding to the incident of sexual harassment they experienced.
“I am very grateful and appreciate the courage of the victims and the alertness of my fellow Pramusapa TransJakarta officers in responding to any crimes that occur within the TransJakarta service environment, including sexual harassment,” he said.
TransJakarta denounce sexual harassment anywhere, including on public transportation such as TransJakarta. TransJakarta also asked for strict action against the perpetrators.
“Whoever the perpetrators must be dealt with strictly/firmly in accordance with applicable law, then we will hand over the handling of the case to the authorities,” he continued.
Perpetrators of Harassment at TransJ Arrested
A woman on the bus TransJakarta (TransJ) with the initial H experienced harassment by a male passenger. Currently, the perpetrator with the initials M (56) has been arrested.
“The perpetrator has been arrested,” said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko to reporters, Tuesday (21/2/2023).
Trunoyudo said that the victim had not made a report regarding the existing case. It also encourages victims to immediately make a report on alleged sexual harassment.
“In this communication, the Sub-Directorate of Renakta said that he was encouraging the victim to make a report to Polda Metro Jaya. However, this is still in the communication where the person concerned is still waiting,” he said.
