Police moved quickly to investigate the case the stabbing that killed the TransJakarta driverRandi Pramono (30), in Ciracas, East Jakarta. The perpetrator has now been arrested.
“Yes, that’s right (the perpetrator has been arrested),” East Jakarta Metropolitan Police Chief Kombes Budi Sartono said when contacted on Thursday (24/11/2022).
Budi did not specify the number of perpetrators arrested by police in connection with the case. Reason for stabbing The victim’s cause of death has not yet been disclosed.
Contacted separately, Ahsanul Muqqafi, Chief Criminal Investigation Unit of East Jakarta Metropolitan Police Ahsanul Muqqafi said the perpetrator is currently at the East Jakarta Metropolitan Police undergoing an examination. Police will be releasing a disclosure timeline of the case this afternoon.
“Today at 11.00 WIB, the police chief led the press conference,” he said.
Presumably the perpetrators-victims know each other
The head of the criminal investigation unit of the East Jakarta Metropolitan Police, AKBP, Ahsanul Muqqafi, previously confirmed that the victim was not killed by a gang of robbers. His team found indications that Randi and the two suspects were in a friendly relationship.
“The perpetrators were not a gang (thieves). It appears that the victims and perpetrators knew each other,” Ahsanul said when contacted on Wednesday (11/23).
The stabbing occurred on Tuesday (11/22). Randi was walking home after working as a TransJakarta driver.
