The court brought 18-year-old Vasil Mihailov back behind bars, accused of beating and harassing people in Pernik. This comes after the prosecutor’s son left his home while he was under house arrest.

Shortly after 2pm on Thursday, the employees of the “Judicial Guard” took Mihailov out to escort him to the cells of the National Investigation Service. It came to this point after the Sofia City Court had found sufficient evidence earlier in the day that the boy had failed to comply with house arrest and was on his way out despite the restrictions imposed.
The prosecutor’s office is adamant that if Mihailov remains free, there is a danger of committing new crimes and has promised to conclude the investigation against him as soon as possible.
The young man’s lawyers retorted that he did not leave the confines of his apartment. The deviations shown by the electronic bracelet data were once again referred to as a “mobile operator glitch”.

However, the defenders admit that there is only one detour – about three minutes, when Mihailov went to a nearby café to get the keys to his apartment. This happened before he was given the electronic bracelet and the detention order had not yet begun.
“We are disappointed because he already has five months in custody. Instead of investigating the case and essentially fighting to see if there is a crime or not, what it is, what is the qualification and commenting on the punishment, we are giving several people l ‘opportunity to practice, “says Mihailov’s lawyer Velin Velinov.
