Thiruvananthapuram:Bids for Purapura solar plants in the state are being rejected as transformers have exceeded capacity limits. The capacity of solar plants should be 75 percent of the transformer capacity of the area. If the capacity of the transformer is 100 KW, then only allow 75 KW plants there. Other applications will be rejected.

Already, the voltage fluctuations caused by solar generation are affecting the stability of the grid in many places. As solar production increases, daytime use must be provided without the use of external contracted power. This will also affect KSEB financially.
