ACCESS The internet in Indonesia’s beloved country until now has not been evenly distributed. This was complained by an IT expert and Deputy General Treasurer of Perindo Youth DPP, Iqnal Shalat Sukma Wibowo.
In Real Action Podcast which aired on the Perindo Party Youtube, Tuesday (31/5/2022), Iqnal said that until now the government has not been total in its efforts to bring the internet to the community.
According to him, even though the government has presented a national fiber optic network or what is commonly known as the Palapa Ring Sky Toll Road, the distribution process has not yet been maximized.
“I last played in the Maluku area, Bacang Island, where there are minerals and precious metals, but there is no maximum internet capacity,” said Iqnal.
“Even though the take and give is big for the country. Science will also be easy to get if the internet grows. I think it’s still in the process of development,” he added.
Furthermore, Iqnal said, the slow distribution of internet is caused by the unique topography of Indonesia, where there are so many mountains that make development difficult.
But out of all that, according to him, the most important thing is the lack of presence of the state in this issue.
“Yes, it is indeed difficult and requires large funds for the construction of the towers. But the most important thing is that the state must be committed and really be there,” said Iqnal.
Iqnal himself admitted that at this time his party was still trying to be able to work together with the government so that they could contribute to building for Indonesia.
