To make antibodies against the virus, you need so-called b cells. “These B cells then make the antibodies themselves,” says Neyts. “In the lymph nodes they have found that those b cells are having a great time there and continue to train themselves. Even weeks after the second injection, they continue to do that, which makes it seem that they offer a long-lasting immunity.”
