On Friday, the new store still bore the mark of moving in, but everything should be ready by Saturday morning.
Both employees and craftsmen were in full swing making the final touches to the premises which will now house perfumes, make-up products and other wellness items.
Because as Fredriksstad Blad has previously mentioned, it is the perfume chain Kicks that is opening on Hans Nielsen Hauge’s place in the city centre.
Had to get out of Torvbyen
– We are looking forward to opening. The summer is so nice in Fredrikstad, this will be fun, said general manager Liv Bjerknes to FB in April.
– We are very, very happy that we got this venue.
Kicks was one of the many shops that were affected when Torvbyen’s building A had to close at the end of March.
The employees had to be laid off, but now they can start working again.
– What has happened in Torvbyen is just sad for all parties. It is a situation that no one could have foreseen, and which has been unfortunate for everyone, said Liv Bjerknes.
Three new businesses
Kicks will be the third new business at Hans Nielsen Hauge’s place in a short time.
The bag store Næss Since 1955 has moved into the old premises of Christensen’s bakery outlet, and the Fly Chicken restaurant has taken over from Chow Burger, next to the Kaffebrenneriet.
– This is the first time we are running a shop at street level and not in a centre, Liv Bjerknes in Kicks has told FB earlier.
– We think it will be very exciting.
