Perfectionist Lynn (14) blows away The Voice coaches | Show

Lynn is not entirely foreign to the stage; at school and during singing lessons she sometimes climbed on the stage to treat spectators to a performance. Still, Lynn wanted to look higher and so she decided to sign up for it The Voice Kids. The song she wanted to impress the coaches with, Creep from Radiohead, she didn’t choose because it gives her a special feeling. “It’s just a great song to sing. Actually, I have no further connections with that song, the only thing is that my grandfather liked that song very well. ”

Lynn’s grandfather died of cancer a few months ago. It was a turbulent period, when Lynn and her family could not even be with their grandfather at first, because they believed he had been affected by the corona virus. That turned out not to be the case. “And in the end he was taken to intensive care and there he died.” The grief was great, especially since Lynn was his only granddaughter and he urged her to do more with her voice. “I think he is secretly very proud of me, when he looks from top to bottom. So I’m definitely going to think of him when I’m standing there. ”

And with that positive thought, Lynn took the stage. “Cool”, Miss Montreal said immediately when Lynn played the first notes. Ali B. was the first to turn his chair, followed by Miss Montreal, Snelle and Ilse DeLange. The coaches’ faces spoke volumes. “Very nice”, Snel said. Afterwards, Lynn could count on a big round of applause.

Despite the coaches’ praise, they all noticed one thing: Lynn was a perfectionist. And maybe a little too much. “You’re just super good. Only you are still very much in your head, singing. I think you are quite a perfectionist by nature. I recognize that, because I had that for a long time. Because I wanted to do it so well, I didn’t have the looseness because of it. And that looseness actually ensures that your performance improves. And I wish you that, because you have everything ”, was the words of Ilse DeLange.

In the meantime, the other coaches made another attempt to win Lynn over, but after a brief moment of doubt, the 14-year-old blonde had already made her choice. “I’m going for Fast.” Why she chose him? “Well, I was not sure whether to choose Snel or Sanne. And then I thought Snel was a bit stronger than Sanne ”, she concluded.
