Yesterday the city park was transformed into a picnic area again. In perfect open-air weather, the third Nohocker party recorded the record number of visitors of the season so far.
By the time the event began at 7 p.m., countless picnic blankets had already filled the lawn – shady spots were preferred. Because as cool and rainy as the summer had been for many weeks, the sun was still shining warmly from the sky yesterday, even in the early evening hours. New visitors were still streaming into the city park until well after 9 p.m.
Those who made it to the party early were able to get into the mood for the evening with a relaxed acoustic mix of the most beautiful songs of the last six decades. Ulli Bohnert and Julia Schraudolph performed in a minimalistic and emotional way.
As the sun set, the band “Whynot” joined in on the Nohocker action. With their repertoire of party, beat and cover rock music, they could easily have performed in any greatest hits show. But country music pieces that were less well-known to the average listener also appeared on stage.
UMoZ was the crowning finale of the perfect Nohocker evening. By the way: The “unknown musicians without a future” have earned themselves a loyal fan base and are anything but unknown today. In Zell they performed their second gig within a few days, because after the first date for the swimming pool concert literally fell through, the band only made up for it last Friday. Ivan, the singing lifeguard from Ukraine, caused a sensation in the swimming pool with his guest appearance. And at the Nohocker party in the city park, the audience couldn’t contain themselves any more, at least not until his retro rock’n’roll performance of “Great Balls of Fire”.
