The Latvian music scene is currently electrified by the vibrant sounds of “Pipari,” a band celebrating its five-year anniversary. Known for their eclectic style and energetic performances, “Pipari” recently delighted audiences in Kaive at the beginning of May. The band is set to bring their unique blend of music to the Great Party at the restored Ieriķi station on February 22.their cheerful song,”Dint will,” is currently making waves in the “Heart Song” competition, further solidifying their presence in the Latvian music landscape.

Founded by Rihards Vitols, who also serves as the Head of Nitaure Culture House, “Pipari” brings together musicians from diverse corners of Latvia. Last year, the band welcomed Venezuelan Angels Ricardo Quinoni, who has been residing in Latvia for several years, adding another layer of international flavor to their sound. Vitols envisioned “Pipari” as a band that would transcend genre limitations, offering a spicy and varied musical experience.

A Band Forged From Diverse talents

The composition of “Pipari” reflects its commitment to musical diversity. Rihards vitols, the founder, handles vocals and guitar while managing the Nitaure Culture House. Gundar Lust, a keyboardist and trumpet player, hails from Cesis. The band’s soloist and singer, Karl Neiburgs, is a graduate of Alfred Kalnins Cesis Music High School. Zigmunds Kundziņš, the bass guitarist, comes from Inčukalns, and Markus Schaian, the drummer, is from Lielbērze of Dobele County. The addition of Angels Ricardo Quinoni from Venezuela has further enriched the band’s sound.

Vitols recounts how Quinoni joined the group: We met him last year, I was advised by my friends. He enriches the group even more as he has a significant experience, he was one of the founders and leaders of the Rockorchestra in his homeland, including the musician in the Sim Floyd group with a strong, international experience. As we continue to grow.

Adding another dimension to their performances, “Pipari” occasionally collaborates with singing actors. On March 8, they are scheduled to perform in Malpils with actor Edgar Pujat in a theatrical singing concert titled “In the Seventh Heaven,” a performance dedicated to celebrating the importance of women.

The genesis of “Pipari”

The formation of “pipari” was a long-held aspiration for Rihards Vitols. The group was my ancient dream from study times. but it was already heavily sighed in my dream shelf, he explains.

The prospect arose in 2018 when former members of the band “Wind” invited Vitols to participate in a new musical project for parties. In 2020, he proposed that the band participate in “Heart Song of Latvia” with his song “First morning.” Even though their journey in the competition was short-lived, Vitols recognized the potential of the project.

Following their departure from “Heart Song of Latvia,” Vitols and Gundar decided to rebuild the band. and as it was already promised to play several points, but we and Gundar were left without a group, we built everything again. We only had the tools, even the microphone was initially surrounded. Zigmunds Kundziņš and Maris Ivanovs joined soon after, followed by Karl in 2023 and Angels Ricardo Quinoni last year.

The Story Behind the Name

The name “Pipari,” meaning “peppers” in Latvian, was chosen somewhat serendipitously. The name of the group came by accident -from many many options it addressed most of the participants at the time, Vitols explains. at first, I was not convinced that this was the most appropriate, but when we played together, we created the songs, the feeling that the stars had made it to this name.It described us very well – both because we are different and our songs are not only sweet but also sharp enough.

The band’s diverse musical style has even garnered humorous descriptions. According to actor Ainars Anchevskis, we represent the genre of rosy romantically. Vitols adds, I would add that it would rosely romantic genre, as we have both serious and serious songs. So on Valentine’s Day or on Women’s Day, we play both the group’s original songs and the repertoire of Latvia’s favorite groups and the romantic hits of the world. Then we are romantic peppers. But usually we are more spicy peppers in the balls. Each moment has our own message we carry.

Musical Styles and Influences

While both “First Morning” and “Dint will” are penned by Vitols,he notes distinct differences in their style. Author for both of me, probably the handwriting is similar. Though, the style is different: the first was such a country rock, this one was reggae. thus, style and genres are definitely different, but the soul itself.

In the previous year, “Pipari” released their debut album, “Moment Unusual.” The album launch took place in Ulbrock, hosted by Ainars Anchevskis, with Janis Paukštello and his son as guests. This is the name precisely as the album has not only the music music, but also the rock music,as well as slow, soulful songs. And releasing the album is also an unusual moment, Vitols explains.

The band’s commitment to exploring various genres stems from a desire to cater to diverse tastes.<
