Pep Guardiola believing Arsenal it will sweep away a win in the rest of the season Premier League. Because of that, Guardiola warned Manchester City so as not to slip.
Arsenal maintained their position at the top of the Premier League standings after a 3-2 win at Tottenham Hotspur, Sunday (28/4/2024) afternoon WIB. A few hours later, City responded with a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest.
With these results, Arsenal are at the top of the Premier League standings with 80 points from 35 games. City are one point behind, but with 34 games played.
Arsenal face Bournemouth, Manchester United and Everton in the rest of the season. Guardiola believes Mikel Arteta’s men will not slip up.
“We would prefer them to lose, but we cannot control what they do,” Guardiola said as reported by Metro.
“They got a good result. There are still four games left. I don’t think they will drop any points. We know exactly what we have to do.”
Guardiola also warned City to maximize the next four games. In addition, City still have the ‘advantage’ of one game being postponed.
“With four games left, it feels like climbing a mountain. They are all difficult games. The only thing we have to extend for another week is still in our hands,” said Guardiola.
“If we draw, we won’t win the Premier League. That’s how it is. We extended this in a difficult game. Rest now and prepare for the next game,” he said.
Man City are next up against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Saturday afternoon (4/5/2024) WIB. Next, Erling Haaland et al. Fulham, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are waiting.
