Even though many people make Man City the superior team to win the Champions League. This is of course by looking at the game of Pep Guardiola’s troops. Moreover, Man City was able to beat Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, who were also the favorites.
Even so, Pep still takes into account the strength of Inter Milan who appeared solid in the Champions League. Pep even admitted that he was impressed with Inter Milan’s game after seeing footage of their match in the Champions League.
“I have started watching some minutes of Inter, some situations and I am impressed. What they do and their body language is impressive,” said Pep Football Italia.

Inter Milan did look normal at the start of the Champions League this season. Inter even almost failed to qualify for the knockout phase if they lost to Barcelona.
But in the knockout phase, Inter managed to prove that they are worth reckoning with. Moreover, they were able to beat AC Milan in the two semifinal matches with an aggregate of 3-0.
Inter itself even mastered the survival statistics in the Champions League this season. Inter managed to become the top team in terms of the number of clean sheets, saves, recovery of the ball (balls recovered, to tackles).
“After watching it, I called some of my friends in Italy to ask their opinion.”
“They all told me to be alert because they were serious about it. I already know, I already understand by watching a few minutes and that situation,” said Pep.

Maybe many people favor Man City purely because of their slick play this season. But many people also forget that Inter Milan has more experience in the Champions League.
Even though it has been a long time since they reached the final, Inter Milan must be recognized as one of the experienced teams in the Champions League. Pep also admitted that his team lacked experience compared to the collector of the three Champions League trophies.
“Of course Inter can beat us, they’ve won this trophy three times and we’ve never done it, but we want to play better so it doesn’t happen again,” said Pep.
Inter Milan last played in the final in the 2009/10 Champions League. Against Bayern Munich, Inter Milan won successfully with their top coach Jose Mourinho. This title even made Inter complete the treble winner for the first time in the club’s history.

Pep admitted before that he really avoided the Italian team in the Champions League final. Because the Italian team will be a complicated opponent for Man City.
This is coupled with Italy’s history which is closely related to defensive football. Of course that would interfere with Man City’s game which was very attacking and dominated the game.
“I played in Italy, I know the mentality. Don’t forget that Serie A was the best league in the world 20 years ago, all the players and coaches wanted to be there.”
“Also, Italy (national team) won the World Cup four times. They still have this mentality, this is why the final against an Italian club is complicated.”
