He People’s Party has got one resounding victory in Palma del Río which will allow him to govern for the first time in the town of Palma, having obtained 12 councilors (the absolute majority stood at 11). The PSOE falls to six councilors (it had 10) and Con Andalucía – Izquierda Unida is left with the three remaining councillors.
Since democracy was established in palm of the river There had only been one party at the head of the Mayor’s Office, the PSOE. Until now, this municipality in the Valle del Guadalquivir region was a socialist fiefdom and its mayoress was Esperanza Caro de la Barrerawho succeeded José Antonio Ruiz Almenara in 2019, another historic PSOE from Cordoba.
The PP candidacy, led by Matilda Esteohas achieved overwhelming support from its neighbors, leading the popular to an absolute majority and drawing a total change of scenery in the town.
Without representation in the Palma del Río plenary session, there are Vox, Forward Andalusia y Let’s change Palma del Río.
