FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA – As many as 3,000 online loans (Pinjol) operating in Indonesia are being pursued by the National Police Headquarters. The reason is that thousands of loans are not registered with the Financial Services Authority (OJK) aka illegal.
The Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit at the National Police Headquarters, Komjen Pol Agus Andrianto, emphasized that the eradication of thousands of illegal Pinjol must be carried out in order to open the network of perpetrators.
This is considered very dangerous and can harm people who are struggling with economic problems. Especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.
“There is something that is being handled by the Criminal Investigation Department, we are also coordinating with the OJK. The results of ongoing investigations are of course to open networks and linkages between illegal loan providers,” he said, in the IG account of the Police Public Relations Division, Tuesday (22/6/2021).
“The location of the perpetrators can be in (various) areas. Our input is conveyed to the regions to also help take action,” explained this three-star high-ranking National Police officer.
Especially in South Sulawesi, OJK noted that so far this year there were only two customer services that complained about loan-related loans.
Head of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Regional Office 6 Sulampua, Moh Nurdin Subandi said that his party always warned the public not to be easily tempted by illegal loans.
“In February and April 2021 each has one service, which is an illegal loan that is not registered and licensed by the OJK,” he explained.
He hopes that with the low consumer complaint services recorded on KR 6 Sulampua, people in South Sulawesi can avoid the trap of online loan offers.
