Popular Soviet and Russian theater and film actor Oleg Vavilov has died at the age of 73. This was announced on Tuesday, February 22, at the Satire Theater, the artist’s last job. The cause of death has not yet been named, but the theater stressed that Vavilov’s departure from life “is not related to the coronavirus.”
In May 2021, Vavilov was admitted to intensive care. He was hospitalized straight from the theatre. Then the artist had a transient ischemic attack – an acute transient circulatory disorder of the brain. Vavailov later reported that he was dizzy before the performance.
Oleg Vavilov has been playing in the Theater of Satire since 2004, and gained wide popularity thanks to the image of Pan Zbyszek in the humorous Soviet program “Zucchini” 13 chairs “.
