William Boeva is a comedian born with dwarfism. “I have been a disabled person for 32 years. I was able to accept it, unfortunately not without difficulty”, he writes in a long text on Facebook. Boeva explains how he himself went a long way before accepting his disability and only years later to actively stand up as a role model for people with disabilities.
But: there is still a lot of work to be done on the reporting of people with disabilities and on the representation of this group, writes Boeva. He is very bothered by what he calls the “teddy bear method”.
