Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
The third child of the former Minister of State Secretary (Minister of State) Please please, Cahyo Pangaribowo Silalahi remembers his late father as strict and obedient to the rules. He called Sudi a religious and hardworking person.
“You are a straight person, a strict person, always adheres to the rules, always adheres to religious orders,” said Cahyo after the funeral procession at the hero’s grave complex, Kalibata, South Jakarta, Tuesday (26/10).
Cahyo told me that his father before he died had taken a morning walk. At that time, Sudi suddenly complained of pain in the stomach, and was rushed to the hospital. According to him, there was no illness his father suffered before he died.
“Before he died, after a morning walk, he had stomach pains, he was admitted to the hospital, and he died, just like that,” he said.
Not much was said by Cahyo to draw Sudi’s figure. He only remembers that Sudi often advised his children to always obey religious orders and not do anything that violates the rules.
Sudi passed away on Monday (25/10) at 23.50 at the RSPAD, Jakarta. Sudi’s funeral procession was attended by a number of former state officials, such as the sixth Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), the 11th Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Boediono, and a number of officials in the United Indonesia II Cabinet.
It is known that Sudi was the Minister of State Secretary for the 2009-2014 period in SBY’s second term as President. In SBY’s first term, he served as Cabinet Secretary Minister (2004-2009).
