People went crazy for a chernokop

“Trud” reports that queues for black carp formed at the “Krasnodar” fish market on Sunday morning.

Whole families had arrived and were dragging full bags into cars parked nearby. Shoppers from Burgas, Plovdiv, Sofia lined up to wait for fresh fish, having heard that this autumn is extremely rich in bonito and black carp.

A kilogram of chernokop yesterday could be bought for 6-8-10 BGN. The fish is large and fresh. Around 11, however, seeing the queues continued, the traders nailed it to 8 BGN per kilo. Many of the vendors at the stalls were out of stock and were hastily waiting for restocking so as not to disappoint the many customers.

Three days ago, at the fish market “Krasnodar”, they released a carp for … 4 BGN. Many saw it as an advertising trick: the news spread across the country and on weekends people drove to Burgas with empty cars and trunks.

According to the fishermen, however, it was not a fishing rod for buyers. “It’s just that the fish is really a lot, we are even worried that there is nothing to do with it and people will stop buying at some point,” the sea wolves explained. Bonito is currently available on the stalls – 8 BGN per kilogram, dried bonito is 15 BGN.

“We have filled the freezers, there is also for Nicholas Day and all winter. The fish will survive the winter. It helps us with inflation. We didn’t have the lutenitsa, but during the cold months we will eat chernokop on the grill.” , Burgaz residents commented.

Most shoppers said they wouldn’t even play around making jars of marinated chernokop, but just put it in the freezer with the bags. Before freezing, the fish does not need to be cleaned. This is done only when it is decided to cook it, the most experienced people in the queue gave advice.

Some families have returned multiple times for fish, with one family member queuing up a second time, while the others took the bought fish home and returned again with empty bags for another batch.
