People stand in lines. There are more and more people interested in vaccinations due to sitting in the pub

The vaccination center in the lobby of Central Station has a capacity of 500 people a day. Until Thursday, the daily numbers vaccinated were well below this limit. A few hours after the announcement of stricter rules, however, unregistered people interested in a “single-dose” substance from Johnson and Johnson stood in line and some of them did not even get to the evening. “People are thus clearly reacting abruptly to the government’s decision to control infectiousness in restaurants and to limit the payment of tests. We do not have an increased number of registrations in the hospital yet, which can also change from day to day, “Eva Libigerová, a spokeswoman for the Bulovka University Hospital, which operates a vaccination center at the station and in its own hospital complex, told the Prague daily.

The institution responds immediately to the changed situation at the station. “We have been strengthening the local team of workers since Friday and we are probably extending the operating hours from Monday,” added Libigerová. The center has been open daily from 10 am to 6 pm, and it will now be open from 7 am to 7 pm.

At the Congress Center in Vyšehrad, where Medicon is in charge of vaccination, they have seen increased interest in the last ten days or so. They relate it, among other things, to the resurgence of the epidemic. “The onslaught of people is now bursting. Sometimes more of them accumulate, which is also due to the fact that both registered and unregistered applicants come to us without a reservation. The latter is usually between 50 and 100 per day, which represents about a fifth of the total number, “said Marcela Pokorná, Medicon’s project manager. Her company is also increasing its staff in the “Congress” from next week, which should enable smoother operation. While after the recent closure of the large-capacity metropolitan center, the local team has shrunk to a quarter, now it will double again.

Significant increases in vaccinations are also reported, for example, from OC Chodov, where vaccines from the Pfizer Group are administered by IKEM health professionals. Last week, up to twice as many people came there compared to the days at the beginning of October. About forty percent of them received the first dose.

The Minister of Health Adam Vojtěch (YES) informed that the staff of the restaurants will have to check the proof of infectivity of the guests from 1 November after their establishment. The obligation does not apply to taking food with you and also to dining areas in shopping centers. The tests will now be reimbursed only to minors or people who cannot be vaccinated for health reasons.

Infection is increasing

The number of people newly infected with coronavirus caused by covid-19 is rising nationwide. With about 170 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants in 7 days, Prague is above the national average. In Central Bohemia, the situation is very diverse across districts. While in Rakovník the incidence number was 25 on Friday, in neighboring Kladno 224. And for example in the district of Prague-East even 385.

Even due to the most significant spread of the infection in the age group of 12-15 years, the capital requires re-testing of schoolchildren. The state has not yet promised to reimburse him, however, the Prague hygiene recommended the tests and according to the education councilor Vít Šimral (Pirates) there is no other option. “We will test, they just don’t plan to pay us back yet. We are able to help schools logistically and administratively and, to a certain extent, financially. However, comprehensive testing by the PCR method will not make Prague financially itself, it would cost about 15 million crowns for secondary schools alone and 25 million for primary schools. It is therefore necessary for the state and insurance companies to be involved again, ”stated Šimral, according to which the representatives of the city and the state will negotiate the payment next week.
