T-Mobile customers made 70% fewer calls on Christmas Day than they would on a normal day. Mobile Internet traffic was also about 10% lower, the provider said on Tuesday.
Christmas Day was the quietest day of 2022 on the mobile network, according to T-Mobile. This has also been the case in recent years. On Boxing Day, 65% fewer calls were made than on a normal day.
In 2019, 2020 and 2021, T-Mobile saw similar decreases in call and data traffic. According to T-Mobile, the holidays are always quiet days on the net, but Christmas Day takes the cake.
During other holidays, such as Easter, Pentecost and Ascension Day, telephone traffic on T-Mobile’s network is about 50% lower than on a normal day.
