PINRANG, RAKYATSULSEL.CO – The Pinrang Class IIB State Detention Center collaborated with the Mattiro Bulu Health Center to carry out HIV/AIDS examinations for inmates for narcotics user cases which took place in the Multipurpose Hall, Monday (8/11/2021).
According to Pinrang Rutan Nurse, Sri Wahyudiningsih, in addition to conducting examinations, education and socialization of the dangers of HIV/AIDS were also carried out to the inmates.
“Education about HIV/AIDS is important to avoid the risks of transmission, especially while in the detention center, especially since our inmates are very familiar with this disease.” He explained.
Furthermore, it also disclosed the results of HIV/AIDS screening to 40 Residents, all of whom were negative.
“Alhamdulillah, the results of the HIV/AIDS examination were all negative,” he said.
Meanwhile, Jumriani, one of the Mattiro Bulu Medical Officers said that HIV/AIDS checks should be carried out routinely and not only drug users but all residents of the Pinrang Detention Center.
“It is better to check as early as possible, to prevent any possibility of contracting it or not,” he said. (Amr)
