People change completely at the age of 44, here is the scientific explanation

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – A study found that two eras of humanity had changed dramatically. That is when he was 44 years old and 60 years old.

“The mid-40s seem to have been a time of great change, just like the early 60s, and this applies to whatever type of molecule you’re looking at.” ,” explained researcher Michael Snyder, director of the Center for Genomics and Personalized Medicine at Stanford University, quoted by the Guardian, Friday (24/8/2024).

All these changes explain the increase in health problems when people enter these two ages. This research found after researching 108 volunteers between 25 and 75 years old.

They submitted blood and stool samples, swabs of the skin, mouth and nose. This is done for several months in one to seven years.

The research team analyzed 135 thousand different molecules. Starting from RNA, proteins and metabolites, as well as associated microbes, namely bacteria, viruses and fungi in the intestines and skin.

The biggest changes seem to have occurred in people in their 40s and early 60s. In the mid-40s there is a spike in age in both women and men.

Originally this was thought to occur in women due to perimenopausal changes. However, it turns out that it also occurs in men in the same age group.

“This suggests that while menopause or pre-menopause may contribute to the changes seen in women in their mid-40s, other, more important factors may be influencing the these changes, both in men and women,” explained Xiatao Shen, who was also a postdoctoral researcher at Stanford’s medical school.

The researchers found the first wave of changes related to molecules in cardiovascular diseases and the metabolic capacity of caffeine, alcohol and lipids. At the same time, the second wave is related to immunity, carbohydrate metabolism and kidney function.
