Nowadays, very expensive energy is really expensive. People are often desperate and try to find a way to save on electricity and gas, or at least make sure that they do not become more expensive again in the future. Unfortunately, no one can guarantee that.
Fixation is not a good choice today
Nevertheless, at this time when energy prices are at historic highs, it is possible to make a recommendation that people only conclude fixed-term contracts with a fixed price. They could get into big trouble.
Also, according to energy analyst Jiří Gavor, it is currently not appropriate to fix the price of electricity and gas. It could simply happen that you close a record price for two or three years in this way, while in a few months the prices can be significantly lower.
Indeed, more than further dramatic growth, electricity and gas prices are expected to fall to more reasonable levels. It will probably not be where it was needed two years ago, but payments will probably become more bearable. This is also because a recession is generally expected, which will slow down economic growth and thus energy consumption.
Better a cautious approach
At the same time, however, it is likely to trigger a wave of redundancies and thus higher unemployment. If the price of energy is fixed at high prices, people can be beaten twice. If they make such a contract, they can tear their hair out in a few months. Not only will the prices be completely different, but they may still lose their jobs. In that case, the record energy prices they have fixed will no longer be able to pay at all. So it is not a good idea to stay on the contract for an indefinite period, when today you will pay larger amounts, but over time you will probably be relieved. In addition, you retain room for maneuver.
At present, it is not recommended to practice the once popular sport in the form of a change of supplier. You can be almost sure that you will only get worse conditions with each transition. Today, suppliers tend to discourage new customers because they do not have the energy purchased for them. And once they take them, they prefer to insure themselves by giving them significantly higher prices.
