“We feel that people need to go out”
Will there be a lot of people for the Pentecost weekend? “We hope so, says Philippe Bonnet, manager of the restaurant Les Goélands, in Sète (Hérault). There have already been a lot of people for 48 hours. We have around forty places on the terrace outside. We feel that people need to go out. Looks like they’re free, they’ve all taken a vacation.“
Does he have to do some policing on the terrace? “In a restaurant, it’s completely different, explains the owner of the restaurant in Sète. People come in and are seated. A bar is different: they move around, they bring the tables together. It is not their role to be the police. “
Reservations until the end of May
There were already a lot of people on the coast last weekend. Does he already have reservations for this Pentecost weekend? “We have them until the end of May, every day. Sunday and Monday, we are already full.”
What time will it close? “We opted for the non-stop solution, explains the manager of the restaurant Les Goélands. We tell people, when they book, not to come after 7 pm in the evening, to have time to eat. “ What do we eat in Sète? “Stuffed squids for example, since we are a fish restaurant!”
