At the start of June, travelers will have to be patient in some places. Pentecost holidays begin in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg, and end in Saxony-Anhalt. In addition, tourists may stay in hotels and campsites in Bavaria again from May 30th. The General German Automobile Club (ADAC) is already warning of traffic jams on the highways for Friday, May 29, as well as for Saturday and Whit Monday.
On weekends there can also be further delays around the city arterial roads when the weather is nice. Trucks are also on the road on Sunday and Whit Monday: during the corona crisis, driving is suspended on Sundays and public holidays.
The ADAC warns of traffic jams on the following routes:
– Major roads to and from the coast
– Greater Hamburg, Berlin, Cologne, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Munich
– A1 Cologne – Bremen – Hamburg – Lübeck
– A2 Oberhausen – Dortmund – Hanover – Berlin
– A3 Cologne – Frankfurt – Würzburg – Nuremberg – Passau
– A4 Kirchheim triangle – Erfurt – Chemnitz – Dresden
– A5 Hattenbach triangle – Darmstadt – Karlsruhe
– A6 Mannheim – Heilbronn – Nuremberg
– A7 Hamburg – Hanover and Würzburg – Füssen / Reutte
– A7 Hamburg – Flensburg
– A8 Karlsruhe – Stuttgart – Munich – Salzburg
– A9 Munich – Nuremberg – Berlin
– A81 Stuttgart – Singing

Hotels, buses, tourism: These easing apply from Pentecost
The Auto Club Europa (ACE) also sees an increase in road users approaching us after weeks with a rather subdued traffic volume. Already on Friday afternoon, many commuters could be expected on the way into the long weekend, traffic jams around the metropolitan areas were expected. From Saturday, May 30, the risk of traffic jams on the southern German motorways is increased due to the resumption of tourist traffic.
