Pensions for disability will be a universal program, announces president in Playas de Rosarito | Presidency of the Republic | government

Playas de Rosarito, Baja California, October 17, 2021.- “We are about to reach agreements with the state governments so that, if they contribute 50 percent, the federation contributes another 50 percent and thus supports all the disabled; the program is going to be universal, ”announced President Andrés Manuel López Obrador on the third day of his tour of the entity.

During the presentation of advances in Welfare Programs in Baja California, the president recalled the pensions for girls and boys with disabilities, the rehabilitation support that 20 thousand of them receive thanks to the agreement signed with Fundación Teletón, in addition to those who They are cared for in the rehabilitation centers of the National and State DIF systems.

He recalled that the pension for the elderly is universal from 65 years of age and will increase to double in January 2024; only in 2021 it increased 30 percent to reach 152 billion pesos; by 2022 it will be 238 billion pesos and in 2024 it will reach 370 billion pesos.

“And we already have it contemplated, there will be no problem, there is no deficit, we will have sufficient resources because there is no more robbery, because there is no more corruption.”

He explained that the federal government currently provides 11 million scholarships for students of all educational levels, including postgraduate degrees, with an approximate investment of 100 billion pesos annually.

Regarding infrastructure, he announced that next year the Urban Improvement Program in Playas de Rosarito will be applied to improve infrastructure in popular neighborhoods.

He invited the inhabitants of Baja California to the commemorative parade of the Mexican Revolution this November 20 in the Zócalo of Mexico City, as well as the report that he will present to the people on December 1 on the occasion of the third year of government and added:

“We are going to continue with the tours and now that the contagion by COVID is already decreasing, we are going to start with open events, with informational assemblies, because that is necessary, that we do not have to limit ourselves and that we can be more in communication with the people. “

The president was accompanied by the governor of Baja California, Jaime Bonilla Valdez; the elected governor, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda; the Undersecretary of Welfare, Ariadna Montiel Reyes; and the Undersecretary of Employment and Labor Productivity of the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare (STPS), Marath Bolaños López.

Likewise, the general coordinator of Comprehensive Programs for the Development of the Presidency, Carlos Torres Rosas; the national coordinator of Scholarships for Wellbeing ‘Benito Juárez’ of the Ministry of Public Education (SEP), Abraham Vázquez Piceno; and the municipal president of Playas de Rosarito, Hilda Araceli Brown Figueredo.
