Pensioners resume the mobilizations in Gijón | BE Gijón | Today for Today Gijón

After two months of hiatus for social and health issues, the Gijón Pensioners Association the mobilizations have resumed this noon. They protest against latest recommendations of the Toledo Pact, for the most part, they say, harmful to the public pension system, and the refusal of the central government to raise the Minimum Interprofessional Salary.

Dozens of people, following all health indications, have seconded the first call this year. The Asociation has been manifesting since 2018 and there have been many demands at this time: the defense of the pension system, the situation in homes for the elderly or the requests of the Home Help Service staff are some of them.

If the health situation does not prevent it, they will continue to mobilize every Thursday in the Plaza Mayor of Gijón. Guillermo Fernández, president of the collective, did in Today for Today Gijón a call to young people to second the calls, it is also their fight, he pointed out.
