A pensioner who threatened to kill three people with a gun was prosecuted by the office district prosecutor’s office, the state prosecution announced.
Yesterday, around 12:30 p.m. in the railway station “Nadezhda” in Sofia, the accused demonstratively held a combat pistol in one hand in a public and busy place.
He threatened to kill and pointed the firearm at another person. A neighbor who witnessed what happened called the police. The accused also threatened to kill the police officers who arrived at the scene in the performance of their official duties, pointing the gun at them and telling them: “I will shoot you, I will kill you.”

Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in the case. In the course of the investigation, a psychiatric examination was appointed, which should establish the mental state of the accused.

So far, the pre-trial proceedings have established that the detainee has a valid permit for three firearms. The pistol with which he committed the incriminated acts was confiscated during the arrest. During searches of his home, another combat pistol was seized. The third firearm was not found and was declared wanted in the Schengen Information System bulletin.

The accused is detained for up to 72 hours by decree of the supervising prosecutor.
A motion to remand the accused is pending before the court.
