“We expect to find a brave and honorable judge who will apply the law exactly and the Minister of Social Affairs will receive a loud slap from the Bulgarian court for the scam with the pensioners.”
This was stated by the leader of the civil platform Izpravis.BG Maya Manolova before the first of the cases in Sofia, which the civil platform filed against the damaging recalculation of pensions. Ms. Sonya Tacheva has been damaged by BGN 27 per month from the non-inclusion in the amount of her pension of the increases in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
Izpravi.BG has filed more than 100 lawsuits across the country against the decision of the National Social Security Institute and the Ministry of Social Affairs to save BGN 30 million each from Bulgarian pensioners.
According to Maya Manolova, winning one of these cases will show the vicious decision to recalculate pensions and lead to their adjustment for all.
She was adamant that the will of the parliament is for pensions to be recalculated by increasing the weight of each year of insurance, taking into account absolutely all increases, indexations, recalculations of pensions made over time, regardless of the way they are made.
According to her, the non-inclusion of the pension increases in 2017, 2018 and 2019, because they are not according to the Swiss rule, is a brutal violation of the exact meaning of the law and thus damages all Bulgarian pensioners by BGN 20 – BGN 30 – BGN 50.
Now they are going to increase pensions by a negligible 6%, given that inflation is a double-digit number, and for basic necessities the situation is out of control and the rise is over 30%.
