Pension reform: lawyers maintain “strike principle”

2:50 p.m .: This Monday morning, during an extraordinary general meeting, under the chairmanship of the president of the bar of Dijon, Stéphane Creusvaux, the lawyers decided “to maintain the principle of strike, this for an unlimited period” (read the strike motion here below). They will meet again in extraordinary general assembly on February 17.

As a reminder, lawyers were already on strike in early January. They called for the withdrawal of the reform “to guarantee everyone access to the law and to justice, health and transport throughout the country”.

On February 3, 80 lawyers from Dijon demonstrated in Paris. Last Tuesday, they had decided to renew the strike and suspended “all legal and judicial activities, including the litigation of freedoms and free consultations”.

In an open letter to the Keeper of the Seals, Nicole Belloubet, the President of the Dijon Bar Association, Stéphane Creusvaux, challenges the Minister, who remains “deaf to the legitimate concerns of the profession” on pension reform.

He says he is “revolted and very angry”. “This reform will undeniably affect the sustainability of the most financially fragile firms, the very ones that work most often for the most vulnerable litigants. “
