“Pension payments decrease in Ukraine for May 2023”

The Pension Fund of Ukraine has completed financing of pensions for May 2023. UAH 57.0 billion was allocated for pension payments, which is UAH 0.1 billion less than in April (UAH 57.1 billion).

According to the press service, 10 billion hryvnias were allocated for the payment of pensions through JSC Ukrposhta, 47 billion hryvnias through authorized banks.

In addition, the Pension Fund directed:

• UAH 3.1 billion for the payment of housing subsidies and benefits;
• UAH 2.2 billion for insurance payments, including UAH 1.2 billion for sick leave.

Recall that the total number of pensioners receiving payments through current bank accounts as of May 1, 2023 amounted to 8.314 million people. The remaining 2.383 million pensioners received payments through Ukrposhta.

Recall that the average pension as of April 1, 2023 was UAH 5,238.25. Since the beginning of the year, the size of the pension has increased by UAH 615.66, or 13.3%.
