Trade union CNV has responded happily to the announced pension increases by four major pension funds. “A good result of the new pension system.”
The pensions are adjusted to inflation. These indexations are very welcome, says pension negotiator Patrick Fey on behalf of CNV. “Many retirees are struggling with more expensive groceries and high energy bills and are increasingly struggling to make ends meet.”
It is also good news for workers, says CNV, because the increases count towards building up their pension. CNV research shows that one in four workers is finding it increasingly difficult to make ends meet. “Prices are really not going down anymore,” says Fey. The CNV calls on political parties to support the new pension system that allows faster adjustments to inflation.
Civil servants fund ABP decided yesterday on a pension increase of 3 percent. Pension Fund Healthcare and Welfare (PFZW) will increase pensions by 4.8 percent with effect from January 1, 2024. The pensions at metal fund PME (3.26 percent) and PGB (5.2 percent) will also increase. Together this concerns pensions for millions of Dutch people.
