“The municipality of Noordwijk is of course pleased with the arrival of this beautiful and new guest house in Noordwijk aan Zee. Pension Code Rosé is a great addition to our municipality,” it sounds. “However, all residents and entrepreneurs within the municipality of Noordwijk must act within the framework of the established rules. As a municipality, we are always happy to explain these frameworks and rules and, if necessary, we guide entrepreneurs to the correct procedure. This starts with a permit application.”
Things went wrong at the Meilandjes with that permit application. “The initiative for this application lies with the owners of the pension. An environmental permit is required to open Pension Code Rosé. However, the owners have not yet submitted an application for this. Prior to the opening, there was good contact with the owner of the guest house. The owner was aware of the fact that opening without an environmental permit constitutes a violation.”
What now? Fortunately, the municipality is giving the Meilandjes some time. “According to the enforcement policy, the municipality takes action under administrative law. This measure is always in proportion to the observed violation. The Meiland family is therefore given a period of time to undo the violation. If an environmental permit is applied for for Pension Code Rosé within the correct period and granted, the offense will lapse and be undone.”
Erica is taking action this Ascension weekend, she will let us know. “The environmental permit will be applied for this weekend. The fire brigade has approved everything and that is now the most important thing.” Will Martien continue to live there? “We already have three candidates to live there and then Martien can be deregistered again.”
