Pennsylvania serial killer admits to six other murders

A convicted double killer has admitted six other murders in the state of Pennsylvania and neighboring Ohio, officials said.

Edward Surratt, a former trucker and convicted murderer, is already serving his life for two murders committed in 1977 and 1978.

In a statement on Wednesday, Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) said Surratt confessed to six other murders from his Florida prison cell.

Following his admission, the PSP was able to resolve several pending murder investigations in the state, with the victims identified as William and Nancy Adams, Guy and Laura Mills, Joel Krueger and John Shelkons.

Officials wrote that Surratt will not bring any further charges as prosecutors have ruled that he is already serving two life sentences in Florida.

PSP began communicating with the convicted killer in connection with unsolved murders in 2018.

In 1978 he was jailed for two murders in Florida and South Carolina.

“PSP investigators have never stopped seeking justice for the victims of these horrific crimes and their families,” said Lt. Col. Scott Price, assistant commissioner for operations for the PSP.

“We hope that the confessions announced today will help give the victims’ families a semblance of closure.”
