PSM Makassar qualify for the semifinals after winning over 4-2 (0-0) on penalties PSIS Semarang in the quarter-finals Menpora Cup 2021 at Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang, Friday (9/4) evening WIB.
PSM came out as winners in the shootout with a score of 4-2. Hilman Syah became the star of PSM’s victory after thwarting two PSIS penalties executed by Pratama Arhan and Hari Nur Yulianto.
Meanwhile, all PSM penalty executors managed to carry out their duties properly. Hasyim Kipuw, Rasyid Bakrie, Abdul Rahman, and Sutanto Tan were able to carry out their duties perfectly.
PSIS is the first team to get a chance to score a goal. Eka Febri Yogi fired a shot from outside the penalty box which PSM goalkeeper Hilman Syah could still tame.
PSIS got another chance to break into PSM’s goal. However, the opportunities for Ryan Ardiansyah and Hari Nur Yulianto have not resulted in goals.
PSIS attempted to respond to the attack by PSM. Several attacks were carried out by Juku Eja’s team but the last pass that was not too good made PSM unable to endanger the PSIS goal that was guarded by Jandia Eka Putra.
The failure of PSIS and PSM to score a goal made the first half ended with a score of 0-0.
In the second half, PSM got a golden opportunity through Saldi in the 64th minute. However, Saldi’s header from a cross could still be thwarted by Jandia Eka.
Six minutes later, it was PSIS’s turn to get the opportunity to score the opening goal in the match. Hari Nur tried to shoot from a narrow angle in the penalty box but was still on the right side of PSM’s goal.
Towards the end of the second half, Jandia Eka became a PSIS hero again. Sutanto Tan’s header from inside the penalty box using a corner kick was saved by Jandia Eka.
The 0-0 score did not change until the 90 minutes of normal time ended. The determination of PSIS or PSM who qualify for the semifinals must be determined through a penalty shootout which was won by PSM with a score of 4-2.
